2020 09: Aromatherapy Newsletter September 2020

Green Valley Aromatherapy – September 2020

Welcome to September!
As summer is coming to an end and the weather is getting colder, it is important to take it one day at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. The children seem to be going back to school this fall, and the very young ones are starting school for the first time.
Back to school is already stressful, but things are going to be different this year due to Covid 19. My grandson is going into grade 12 this year, and my granddaughters are going to continue working from home until the classroom situation is sorted. With everyone going back to school, it is important to keep to the rules– wearing masks, social distancing, keeping things clean and disinfected. These rules are put in place to keep us all safe, and so that we can beat this pandemic as fast as possible!
Best Wishes,
Barb Greenwood.

Profile on Ginger essential oil:

Ginger essential oil is a base note that is steam distilled. It is produced in Asia and India, and it’s botanical name is Zingiber Officinalis.
The main properties of this well known plant are analgesic, aphrodisiac, carminative, digestive, and stimulant. Ginger is thought to help broken bones heal, and it is great for rheumatism and arthritis as it has a warm, comforting feeling.
Ginger essential oil can help with hangovers, motion sickness, congestion, chills, and fever.
Personally, I don’t like the aroma of Ginger essential oil, but, when it is paired with a citrus oil it is really nice.

Profile on terminator Blend:

This blend is based on the traditional “Thieves” blend. Our Terminator blend was created to help fight germs and bacteria, and help to boost the immune system. This synergy contains Camphor, Cinnamon, Lavender, Nutmeg, Rosemary, and Sage essential oils. Camphor is good for keeping infections down, as well as clearing congested lungs to ease breathing. Lavender is a natural antiviral, antiseptic, and respiratory stimulant. Nutmeg, Cinnamon and Rosemary have natural antiseptic properties, and Rosemary is also a lung tonic. Sage is antiseptic and antibacterial.
Terminator is great in a diffuser and works well in small doses in the bath, and in a massage oil. This blend is a great oil to use to boost your immune system as it is natural and has no additives.

Profile on Virgin Coconut oil:

Virgin coconut oil is made from fresh coconut meat that has been quick-dried or “non-copra”. It is not heated, but is pressed out mechanically. It can also be made from a method called “wet milling”, which means the coconut meat is not dried at all.
Virgin Coconut oil has a small molecular structure, which means it can be easily absorbed. This imparts a soft, smooth texture on skin and hair. This oil also has a beautiful, natural coconut scent and is excellent in relieving dry, rough, and wrinkled skin.
Use Virgin Coconut oil as a carrier oil with your favourite essential oils!

recipe for back to school:

After a long summer break, going back to school can be very stressful. We have created an Anti-stress aromatherapy blend that can make the transition from relaxing summer days to routine and homework more pleasant.
Gently mix these oils in a 2ml amber bottle. Inhale directly or use with a carrier oil for 1 drop of this blend with 1 drop of carrier oil.
Try adding 4-10 drops (½ the amount for children) directly in a bath after a long day of studying!
