2022 06: Aromatherapy Newsletter June 2022

Green Valley Aromatherapy – June 2022

Dear Aromatherapy Friends,
June is a busy, buzzing month. Summer is so close we can taste it!
The 19th of June is Father’s day and what better way to treat the special fellow(s) in your life than to some self care they would otherwise not get themselves ~ a massage, a hot shave or an introduction to the benefits of aromatherapy? Our car diffusers are very popular and easy to use. We also have an assortment of ultra sonic diffusers that can fit into any decor. Some of the essential oils and blends we find our more masculine customers gravitating towards include Black SpruceEucalyptus GlobulusLemongrassOrangePeppermint20 Year CelebrationScents of BC Higher Being.
Sending wishes for a lovely June!
Aromatically yours,
Barb Greenwood

Profile on Neroli essential oil:

This beautiful essential oil, steam distilled from the flowers of the bitter orange tree, is one of the best for supporting one through anxiety, melancholy and restlessness. Application before bed can help to alleviate insomnia.
Also excellent for skincare, Neroli can benefit dry, sensitive, acne prone skin by helping to balance sebum production and soothe acne-induced redness and inflammation. Neroli can also rebuild and improve elasticity in the skin reducing the appearance of scars and fine lines.
Neroli can be found in the following blends: Final Journey & Sunshine.

Profile on Renewal blend:

Whether you’re in need of more support due to recovery, big life changes, personal loss, or any other part of your journey in life that has left you feeling adrift; our Renewal blend will be there to lift you up. Formerly known as our 12 Steps blend, you can use it as part of your daily routine of self-care to help promote new thoughts of change and possibility.
This blend was created to aid you in letting go of negative thoughts and feelings of the past; to help you embrace the concept of your own strength; and to help you focus on the future and envision good things coming to you.

Profile on Shea butter:

Shea butter, also known as African karate butter, is a well-known ingredient in some of our favorite skin and hair products and for good reason! Shea butter is high in linoleic acid, aka vitamin F – an Omega-6 fatty acid that provides moisture and fortifies and protects the skins barrier. This rich butter is also abundant in vitamins A, aka retinol, which has a stimulating effect on collagen production and can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles; and E, an antioxidant well known for its skin moisturizing and healing properties.
We proudly source our Shea butter from a small Canadian/Ghanaian family owned business located on Vancouver Island in Canada

DIY Whipped Body Butter:

1/3 cup Jojoba oil
1 tsp Vitamin E
15 drops total essential oil(s) of choice ~ see suggestions below
Hand mixer or Blender
Using a double boiler, just soften the Shea Butter, don’t melt completely. Once the Shea is malleable, add the rest of the ingredients. Using either a hand mixer or blender combine ingredients for around 3 minutes or until it has reached your preferred ‘whipped’ consistency. Place in jar or container of your choice.
Essential oils recommended for healthy, glowing skin include Carrot SeedFrankincenseLavender and Rose Geranium.
