2023 09: Aromatherapy Newsletter September 2023
Green Valley Aromatherapy – September 2023

Dear Aromatherapy Friends,
After quite an eventful summer, we at Green Valley Aromatherapy are ready to settle into cozy fall and the routine it brings. For many students, new and seasoned, the transition back to school can be a bit nerve-wracking. Some essential oils and blends we would suggest having on hand to ease anxieties are Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Ho Wood, Lavender, Mandarin, 20 Year Celebration, Road Scents, Stressbuster & Tranquility.
Wishing you all a beautiful September.
Aromatically Yours,
Barb Greenwood
Profile on goldenrod essential oil

Our Goldenrod essential oil is organic and wild-crafted. This essential oil is steam distilled from the aerial parts of the herbaceous perennial, Canadian Goldenrod. It’s scientific name ‘Solidago’ means ‘to make whole’ or ‘to heal’.
Found in eastern Canada, Goldenrod has long been used by Indigenous people for food and medicine. It can be incredibly helpful to alleviate seasonal allergy symptoms and other respiratory issues by helping to ease congestion and stop your nose from running. Goldenrod can also be helpful in healing urinary tract infections, skin care (eczema and acne), treatment of minor wounds, arthritis and gout, oral hygiene and fungal infections.
Goldenrod can be found in our Breathe Easy essential oil blend.
Profile on magic moments blend

Our Magic Moments blend, formerly Masculine Moments, is a wonderful synergy of essential oils to help warm and arouse the senses.
Black Pepper, is a piquant and stimulating essential oil, helping combat lethargy and aid concentration; Cedarwood, is well known for its grounding, sedative properties; Orange softens the blend as it gently uplifts; Sandalwood is a beautifully calming oil that promotes deep connection; and Ylang ylang, an oil used to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Use in a diffuser to promote a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
When mixed with a carrier oil and used in massage, this blend can also encourage expression and intimacy.
Profile on moisturizing base cream

This rich, nourishing cream is excellent on its own as its texture is fine enough for facial application but nourishing enough for any ‘body’. It is also a wonderful base to add essential oils (such as Carrot Seed, Frankincense, Lavender, Rose Geranium & Helichrysum) or to boost with carrier oils (such as Rosehip Seed & Evening Primrose) for your own specific needs.
Our Moisturizing Base Cream provides fast absorbing, long lasting protection to soften and smooth your skin.
cleansing scalp & hair scrub
After a couple months of hats, salt water, pools, camping, sunscreen and everything else your hair has been exposed to over the summer, it is time to give your scalp and hair some TLC. This scrub is a wonderful way to rinse away all the buildup and products and give a fresh start to fall.
3 tablespoons Fine Sea Salt
1 tablespoon Bentonite Clay
1 tablespoon Castile Soap
1 or 2 tablespoons Witch Hazel depending on your desired consistency
1 drop Lemon Essential Oil
1 drop Tea Tree Essential Oil
2 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
Combine Sea Salt and Bentonite Clay in bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl combine the Castile Soap and Witch Hazel. Next, incorporate the sea salt & clay mixture into the castile & witch hazel. Once blended well, add essential oils and mix again.
To use, massage onto wet scalp using your fingertips for 1 to 2 minutes. Then wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo and condition as usual.
did you know?
Autumn Equinox, a special time when day and night are equal, falls on September 23 this year. Also known as ‘Mabon’, a Pagan harvest festival celebrating balance, equality and harmony.
This is a time for reflection and appreciation for all the good in your life.
Essential oils such as Black Pepper, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Clove & Sweet Orange are wonderful during this time of year as they are warm, comforting and uplifting.
