2024 09: Aromatherapy Newsletter September 2024
Green Valley Aromatherapy – September 2024

Dear Aromatherapy Friends,
We’ve been treated to an absolutely glorious September thus far! September is such a lovely month, as we ease from the bustle of the summer into the routine of fall. I love that there are still flowers blooming while the leaves turn and begin to sprinkle the ground…such a colourful time.
Now that school has started up again, we have had more customers coming in for immune boosting as well as antibacterial and antiviral essential oils and essential oil blends to get ahead of the germs and viruses that will no doubt be making themselves known sooner than later. Some of our favorite oils and blends to diffuse this time of year include: Eucalyptus Globulus, Ginger, Lemon, Oregano, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Ravintsara and Rosemary as well as Auntie Vi, Sniff-B-Gone and Terminator.
Sending you good wishes for a wonderful month.
Aromatically Yours,
Barb Greenwood

profile on grapeseed oil

This cold pressed Grapeseed oil (Vitis vinifera) has a green tint and very fine texture. It is almost odorless and makes a good choice for aromatherapists wanting a bland base oil with excellent slip.
Grapeseed oil contains vitamins (including vitamin E), minerals, polyunsaturates, protein and linoleic acid (68-76%), which is very important for the skin and cellular membranes. It is a penetrating, odourless, mildly astringent oil that is great for all skin types.

September 22 is World Rivers Day. Almost every country around the world will have at least one river flowing through it. Living on beautiful Vancouver Island, we at Green Valley Aromatherapy are incredibly fortunate to be practically surrounded by rivers.
The main aim of World Rivers Day is to ensure that everyone is aware of the importance of river stewardship and that we all do what we can to limit the threats that could potentially endanger our rivers.
There is a lot of human activity that causes pollution and damage to a number of the world’s important waterways, and this is dangerous for the people who regularly use the rivers as a source of water and transport, as well as the ecosystems that live in them.
