Description
Black Spruce is a small, hardy, evergreen upright tree or dwarf shrub with thin, scaly, grayish-brown bark. This plant is native to most of Canada with the exception of the west coast and the southern prairies. It generally grows in moist or boggy locations where it can grow up to 15 meters in height.
Black Spruce essential oil has a high ester content, meaning it has strong anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory and sedative properties.
Black Spruce essential oil is known as anti-fungal and antibacterial. It can be used to help with cystitis, cellulite, sore throats and gingivitis. It may help to improve circulation and strengthen the immune system. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties make Black Spruce useful for arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and bronchitis. Black Spruce essential oil may also be useful for acne, and hyperthyroidism. Emotionally, Black Spruce essential oil can be uplifting, mentally stimulating and helpful for mental exhaustion.
