Description
Rose geranium is steam distilled from the leaves of the pelargonium graveolens plant with rose petals and its usual country of origin is France. The oil is pale yellow green in appearance. As the name would suggest, many of the chemical constituents are similar to that of Rose essential oil, although it is not be mistaken as an alternative to Rose. This oil is identical in its uses to the regular Geranium with the added benefits from the rose petals.
Rose geranium has antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial, astringent and deodorant properties. Its calming and uplifting properties make it a wonderful oil to use in the long cold winter months to help lighten the mood in your home or office environment!
This beautifully scented oil is very balancing in skin care, making it great for dry skin as well as acne prone conditions. It helps to normalize (balance) sebacious gland activity and sebum secretion, making it useful for all skin types, from dry to oily.
It is also a great mosquito repellent. In ages past, geraniums were planted around the house to help keep evil spirits at bay.
Rose Geranium oil can be used to help in the treatment of acne, bruises, burns, cuts, dermatitis, eczema, hemorrhoids, lice, mosquito repellant, ringworm, ulcers, breast engorgement, edema, poor circulation, sore throat, tonsillitis, PMS, menopausal problems, stress and neuralgia. It’s reputation as an extremely versatile essential oil is well documented.
Rose geranium blends well with most citrus oils as well as Basil essential oil, Citronella essential oil, Clary Sage essential oil, Jasmine essential oil, Lavender essential oil, Neroli essential oil, and Rosemary essential oil.
