Description

Spanish Sage is steam distilled from the flowers and leaves of the herb. This herb is primarily grown in the Mediterranean and China.

Sage is known to be a stimulant of the adrenal cortex, as well as the central nervous system, and has been used to try and stimulate the metabolism as well. Sage is good for the head and brain as it quickens the senses and memory. It helps to regulate the menstrual cycle. Sage is a nervous system and metabolism stimulant. It may help to restore scanty or missed periods (emmenagogue) and can induce uterine spasm. It has a warming, softening effect which is useful on muscles which have been over-developed by weight-training.

In skincare, sage can be useful in healing acne and dermatitis and as a cell regenerator, aged skin may benefit. It may also be helpful for dandruff and hair loss. For its healing benefits, Sage is a nervous system and metabolism stimulant.

Avoid during pregnancy. Avoid in people with epilepsy. This oil can be abortive and toxic in higher doses. USE WITH CAUTION, as this is a powerful oil. Not to be confused with Salvia officinalis (Dalmatian) which is not recommended for aromatherapy.
