A topical anti-inflammatory, Peppermint floral water can be used for stiff muscles, aches and pains. Spritz on the face and body to help with hot flashes or during hot weather. It is also great for relieving itches! Peppermint Floral Water can be used to wash floors and walls to ward off pests. When sprayed on furniture it may discourage a cat from scratching.
This floral water has traditionally been used for various stomach and gastro-intestinal track ailments such as travel sickness, diarrhea, and heartburn. A topical anti-inflammatory, peppermint floral water can be used for an athletes’ stiff muscles, aches and pains. It will have a cooling effect when added to a hot compress, and a heating effect when added to a cold compress. Peppermint floral water compresses can be used on acne that is red and irritated. Use it also to cool down the sting and itch of insect bites.
Peppermint floral water is mentally stimulating and will also calm and cool the nerves. When combined with Black Spruce hydrosol it is a great toner for the bustline.
Avoid with children less than three years old.
While floral waters differ from hydrosols, they have similar benefits. Floral waters are made by adding 1%-2% of an essential oil or absolute to distilled water. As essential oils are not water soluble, small amounts of emulsifiers and preservatives are added. These infusions still have a place in aromatherapy as the properties of the essential oils, though diluted, are still very much present. Floral waters are especially useful when working with more sensitive people, the elderly or young children.
