Jasmine essential oil is thought to boost feelings of confidence and optimism. It may help with depression, pain relief, impotence, frigidity, coughs and childbirth. It is excellent in skincare preparations.

Jasmine Absolute is known as a “woman’s oil” and as a uterine tonic it is good for menstrual pain and cramps. It has also been said to be very helpful in childbirth when used as a massage oil in the early stages of labour. It may also help with the delivery of the placenta after delivery and aid postnatal recovery. This oil has a reputation as an aphrodisiac, helping to relax and address sexual problems.

On the emotional level, Jasmine may be relaxing and emotionally warming, and has the potential to be a powerful antidepressant of a stimulating nature, which is wonderful where lethargy or a lack of confidence has set in.

In skincare, Jasmine Absolute is useful for all skin types, but especially for those individuals with dry, sensitive skin. It must be used in small amounts though, as too much can have the opposite effect of what is needed.

Castor oil is a vegetable oil derived from the castor seed, Ricinus communis. Traditionally castor oil is used for skin problems, burns, sunburns, skin disorders, cuts and abrasions.

Castor oil is a humectant: it creates a protective barrier on the skin, and attracts and retains moisture. It is good for dry, chapped skin and is readily absorbed. It is said to dissolve cysts, growths and warts, and soften corns and prevent scars.

cleansing blend to bring in the new year

Set the year off right by airing out and clearing your space with intention and love. The following blend can help to create an atmosphere of calming, refreshing energy anywhere it is diffused.

The following will make an approximately 5ml synergy:

• Black Spruce – 20 drops
• Cypress – 45 drops
• Frankincense – 35 drops
• Litsea Cubeba – 40 drops
• Palo Santo – 10 drops

Black Spruce – A very grounding essential oil, one that helps us to identify who we are and to give us focus.

Cypress – Encourages us to see the natural transitions within the cycle of life. Cypress signals the end of a major phase in our life and the transition into a world of new possibilities. Stimulating and elevating effect on the mind and psyche

Frankincense – Calming to the mind and cleansing to the senses. Uplifting to the spirit while also promoting inner peace and balance.

Litsea Cubeba – Pacifying to negative energy and rebalances spirituality. Inspires intuition and assists in the manifestation of infinite possibilities.

Palo Santo – Used to purify and cleanse the spirit, often used to help calm the mind and relax the senses. Great to use whilst meditating or to aid concentration/enhance learning. Assists in removing obstacles, attracting good fortune and clearing negative energy.
