2025 01: Aromatherapy Newsletter January 2025
Green Valley Aromatherapy – January 2025

Dear Aromatherapy Friends,
Happy 2025!
Did you know that 2025 in numerology is a 9 (2+0+2+5 = 9)? In numerology, the number 9 represents completion, transformation, and humanitarianism. As we move through 2025, the collective energy will focus on letting go of the old, making way for new beginnings, and embracing compassion for others. This year encourages reflection on the past and preparation for a new cycle of growth.
Some essential oils that could help to boost and support this flow of energy and ‘letting go’ include Clary Sage, Frankincense, Mandarin, Neroli, Palo Santo, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Vetivert.
We are all feeling optimistic about 2025 and wish you all a year of prosperity and growth!
Aromatically yours,
Barb Greenwood
profile on patchouli essential oil

The Patchouli bush and its essential oil has a long history of use in perfumery and for its natural healing properties. Used in traditional Chinese medicine as a stimulant, tonic and antiseptic. It is widely used in the perfume industry as a fixative due to its long lasting character. Patchouli continues to get better with age.
Some of its countries of origin are Malaysia, Indonesia, and Paraguay.
Patchouli has long been known as a fungicide, antidepressant and insecticidal oil as well as being antiseptic and anti-inflammatory in nature. This makes it useful in treating many different skin conditions; especially when you consider that Patchouli may also possess the same cell regenerating ability as Lavender and Neroli (cytophylactic). Patchouli can be used for treating acne, cracked skin, certain types of eczema, fungal infections (athletes’ foot), some skin allergies and even dandruff.
Mentally, this oil has been found useful for treating all forms of depression, anxiety and stress related issues. It also has the reputation of being a natural aphrodisiac.
Patchouli essential oil can be found in the following products: Empowered Blend, Infinite Bliss Blend, Perfume Veil & Room Spray, Nurturance Blend, Scents and Sensuality Blend, OTR & PMR, Sacral Chakra Blend and Solar Plexus Chakra Blend. It is also offered in our Personal Start-Up Kit and Professional Start-Up Kit.

National Pie Day celebrates a favorite dessert for many. No matter how you slice it, pie in just about any form makes a crowd happy. Fruit pies, berry pies, cream pies – they are mouthwatering servings of homemade goodness.
The first pies appeared around 9500 BC in the Egyptian Neolithic period or New Stone Age; no wonder they are a nostalgic treat for so many!
