Description
Goldenrod essential oil is organic and wild-crafted. This essential oil is steam distilled from the aerial parts of the herbaceous perennial, Canadian Goldenrod. It’s scientific name ‘Solidago’ means ‘to make whole’ or ‘to heal’. Found in eastern Canada, Goldenrod has long been used by Native people for food and medicine. The Meskwaki peoples are said to have used it to help children who were having difficulty in starting to speak or laugh.
Goldenrod essential oil aids in a variety of therapeutic uses including urinary tract infections, skin care (eczema and acne), treatment of minor wounds, arthritis and gout, oral hygiene and fungal infections. It is said to help with allergy symptoms and other respiratory issues by helping to ease congestion and stop your nose from running.
Diffusing Goldenrod essential oil may be very calming and emotionally uplifting. Goldenrod has a very green, slightly sweet and humid scent. This is a great essential oil to diffuse if you would like to eliminate odours from cooking or tobacco smoke in the home.
